2016 Team Selection Perris CA

The 2016 Team USA F3B Selection contest was in Perris, CA from Fri. June 10 through Sun. June 12, 2016. RCGroups thread here.

The Perris field is home to the Riverside Radio Control Club and the Southern California Antique Model Plane Society (SCAMPS). They once again graciously allowed us to use their excellent facility. Contest Director was Sheldon Smith and the Event Coordinator was Tom Watson.
Tim Traver’s F3X Vault was used for event scoring. You can check out final scores at Tim’s site here http://www.f3xvault.com.

Final results of the contest were 1st, Tom Kiesling, 2nd Mike Lachowski, 3rd Kyle Paulson.
Kyle decided to sit this cycle out so Reto Fiolka who was 1st Alternate is now the 3rd pilot on the team. Tim Traver will be the alternate.

Sandy posted the result of the Team Selects on RC Groups and this is what he said.
“As you all now know, Kyle has stepped-down and will not be a member of the 2017 F3B USA Team, which moves Reto Fiolka up to the Team, and moves Tim Traver up into the position of Team Alternate.

There were some “interesting” conditions over the course of 4 days. I commend the pilots, AND the helpers, with adjusting to the conditions. Thu/Fri – HOT! Sat – Where’s my jacket? Sun – so-so. I’ve never felt it that cold at Perris before. The flying was awesome! My helpers were awesome, with very few issues due to button pushing. And a special thanks again to Paul Anderson and his family – WOW! DynoDon, DennisE, Brandon, AlexB, Mike, DougC, LexM, JohnB, MarkC…EVERYONE…You did a GREAT job, and made it a lot easier for me to attend to the actual Running of the contest and scoring! THANK-YOU SOOOO MUCH!”
