Thu Aug 3 Practice at Mikulovice Airfield

We started at 7am on Thursday and after a quick breakfast (obtained last night at the local Supermarket) we made out way to the Flying field for practice. There was a group of Swedish pilots there ahead of us including the Dutch team ringin Joe Wurts. Batteries and line were each an issue for us as we were without both. Tom found the batteries locked up in the hangar and we found a friendly caretaker to unlock and give us access.

The day started fairly lively with plenty of strong air but by lunch time was overcast and cool as weather started to close in.

Reto and Glauco arrived at 2:00 after getting lost enroute via Poland. (Glauco is famous in Europe for his expertise in finding pathways through the myriad of countries you need to negotiate to reach the far eat airfields they run the F3B World Champs at.)

By 3:30 We decided to pack it in for the day as rain approached up the valley and we just managed to get packed up before we got wet.

The flying field is an operational grass airport and during the afternoon a Vlin took off towards us from mid runway where the hangar is located. It came past us at about 25 feet altitude.

The team is now complete and together we went into Jesenik for dinner.
